Buildings Alive! Ybor City Architecture Hop

Join the Ybor City Museum Society for the seventh annual Buildings Alive! Ybor City Architecture Hop for behind-the-scenes tours of historically significant buildings and sites that showcase their beautify architecture and interesting stories.


  • American Institute of Architects Tampa Bay (Award-winning San Souci building)
  • Casa Oliva (only remaining wooden cigar factory in Ybor City)
  • Design Styles Architecture (Former Italian grocery store)
  • Lions Eye Institute (Lozano Cigar Factory building)
  • Swope Rodante (Florida Brewery building)
  • USAmeribank (Built in 1926 for the Columbia Bank)

"Hoppers" will ride rubber-wheeled trolleys or walk from stop to stop at their own pace, take unique guided tours of each location, and sample Ybor-inspired foods, beer, wine and soft drinks along the way! Tours of each building are given throughout the night so Buildings Alive! attendees can experience the hop their way. Begin with check-in and the Send-Off Party with food, drinks and music from 5-6:30 pm in the Garden of the Ybor City Museum State Park.

  • The all-inclusive general admission in $45 in advance and $55 after February 28th and at the door
  • YCMS members receive discounted price of $35 if purchased by February 28th
  • Students with valid ID may purchase admission for $25
